Catching Up - Suffolk
So I’m sat on the Belfast – Birkenhead ferry for the next 8 hours, with my 7-in-7 challenge behind me and thought it time I caught up to date with this blog so I have some memory of the nine counties that have been completed since I last posted!
County # 31 – Suffolk
Getting long days in the saddle was a key element of my preparation for the 7-in-7 challenge so I chose Suffolk for a longer than usual ride in relatively benign terrain. A region I had only briefly visited before to watch Conor race cyclocross proved to be a great choice for extended hours in the saddle.

Starting in Bury St Edmunds I headed out through arable farming land to Stowmarket

Next stop Portman Road Stadium, home to Ipswich Town Football Club who’s fans were just starting to arrive for their EFL League One game with Wycombe, we must have brough them good luck they went on to win 4-0!

Ipswich waterfront in the sunshine was a vibrant and eye-catching place to ride.

Woodbridge and Orford

Pig farms were definitely a theme on this ride, if you ever wondered where your bacon comes from, Suffolk is a good bet.

And a good few windmills!
